Downloading photos from Instagram: your own profile
Instagram lets you download photos to your phone or computer, but only photos from your own profile. If you want the photos you post on Instagram to be saved to your gallery, you do not need any extra apps or websites. Just go to your profile and tap the three-line icon in the top right corner. Go to Settings, Account, then Original photos. This is where you can turn on saving of the photos you post. Every photo or video you add to your profile will then be saved to your gallery automatically.
Downloading photos from Instagram: other users' posts
Saving someone else's photo to your phone or computer is not as simple as downloading photos from your own posts. Unfortunately, Instagram still does not offer a quick way to save photos posted by other users. There are, however, mobile apps made for exactly this purpose, such as InstaSaver, Downloader for Instagram or InstaSave, available on both Android and iOS. These apps let you download not only photos but also videos and stories.
How to save Instagram photos using a website?
Besides apps for downloading Instagram photos, there are also dedicated websites that let you save photos from other people's posts in a few simple steps. These include igdownloader.com, inflact.com and sssinstagram.com. To save a particular photo to your smartphone or computer, tap the three dots next to it and choose "Copy link". Next, open one of these websites and paste the copied link into the box. That's it! After a moment the photo is saved to your gallery! As with the apps, a website for downloading Instagram photos also lets you download videos (such as Instagram reels) and other posted content.
