With these few tips you will take the perfect photo that draws lots of followers to your profile.
1. Find the perfect angle for your face.
Every face is different, but almost any selfie turns out much better if you push your chin slightly forward and tilt your head a little. Your face will look much better in the photo, whatever its shape. Look at photos of Instagram stars: they all pose with their heads slightly tilted.
2. Natural light is your best friend.
Whether or not you wear make-up, photos taken in natural daylight look much better than ones taken under artificial light or with a flash. Artificial light highlights every flaw and simply makes a face look worse. The best light is indirect daylight: stand a little away from the window rather than right in front of it. See the difference for yourself.
3. Take photos in the morning.
In the morning your face is fresh and your make-up has just been applied. Your hair is freshly washed and styled. It is the ideal time for photos: you will look radiant and fresh. Reach for your phone then, and you will be happy with the results.
4. Mind your facial expression.
Raise your eyebrows slightly; if you have full lips, part them gently (but not in a vulgar way); if they are small, try to make them look bigger with the right pose. Remember to smile a little, but never make a duck face!
5. Raise your arm.
Hold the phone as high as your arm allows. This angle makes you look slimmer, and the photo softer and more natural. Notice how much smoother and more flattering a face looks from this angle.
6. Mind the background.
Take care of the background, whether you are photographing your whole figure or just your face. Nothing is worse than a photo of a beautiful girl with a mess behind her.
7. If you use filters, try to stick to one.
If you find a filter that really flatters you, try to use it on every photo. It keeps your profile consistent. The biggest Instagram stars use this trick.
8. Put on glasses.
If you do not feel confident in front of the lens, or want a photo without make-up, put on glasses. Sunglasses, prescription glasses or plain frames will all make you look good. You no longer need to take 400 photos to pick one: with glasses, the photo always turns out well.
